How to use this gpa calculator
Calculate GPA from course grades and credit values. Grading systems differ between institutions. Use the scale required by your school or university and verify official results with your institution.
- Enter the values requested in the calculator.
- Select any units or options that apply.
- Choose Calculate to view the result.
- Use Reset if you want to start again with different values.
Grade scale used
This calculator uses a common 4.0 scale: A+ = 4.00, A = 4.00, A- = 3.70, B+ = 3.30, B = 3.00, B- = 2.70, C+ = 2.30, C = 2.00, C- = 1.70, D+ = 1.30, D = 1.00 and F = 0.00. Your university may use a different scale, so check its official grading policy when you need an official GPA.
Calculation method
The calculator converts each selected letter grade to its grade point, multiplies it by the course credits, and then applies the weighted GPA formula.
Results are rounded for readability, so very small rounding differences can occur when compared with manual calculations or other software.
Why this tool is useful
Instead of rebuilding the formula in a spreadsheet or searching for conversion factors, you can enter the values directly and get a consistent result. We keep each tool focused on one task so the inputs and result remain easy to understand on both desktop and mobile screens.
